The 10-bedroom mansion shattered Gold Coast records, with a buyer making an unconditional cash offer before the auction even began. Announced on the auction room floor, the offer went unmatched, and the rest is now property history. Though the official price is unknown, \u201cwell-placed sources\u201d say the three level property dubbed \u201cthe wedding cake house\u201d sold in the $40 million range last month. Though the final price has been withheld, the residence, dubbed &#8216;Huntingfield&#8217;\u00a0was listed with a price guide of $55 million to $60 million. Named \u201cMainhead\u201d, the property was purchased in 1952 for \u00a322,500, and sold in 2004 for $10.5 million. Last sold in 1959 for \u00a39750 to Dimity Griffiths\u2014who lived in the home for 64 years\u2014the sale doubles the previous $25 million record for Sydney\u2019s eastern beaches. While the buyer remains anonymous, plans for the property are an easy guess.
